Job summary

Veterinary Eye Center of Massachusetts in Newton, MA, seeks an experienced Veterinary Technician with anesthesia skills to join our ophthalmology team. You will perform pre-surgical diagnostics, assist in surgeries, and provide post-operative care while educating clients and supporting doctors.

As a member of the ophthalmology team, in addition to traditional Vet Tech duties, you will be actively involved in:

• Client education


• Ophthalmic disease testing


• Performing pre-surgical diagnostics


• Post operative patient care


• Rounding with the doctors on cases using learned ophthalmology knowledge


• Leading appointments

Requirements:

• 2+ years’ experience as a Veterinary Technician


• Anesthesia Skills


• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and an ability to clearly communicate with clients as well as team members


• The ability to adapt while maintaining a positive attitude


• Highly evolved organizational skills with an acute attention to detail


• The ability to work independently, responsibly, and ethically
