Veterinary Technician

Preston Royal Animal Clinic – Dallas, TX – Full‑Time

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Veterinary Technician to work 30‑40 hours per week, including day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. One weekend shift is required.

As a Veterinary Technician, you will work side‑by‑side with veterinarians during procedures, assist with surgeries, and support the medical team in ensuring quality veterinary care.

Job Duties

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with the state Veterinary Practice Act.
• Monitor and assess patient status.
• Collect blood and other samples for testing.
• Place catheters.
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on membership options, medications, and treatments.
• Assist in maintaining comprehensive medical records.
• Obtain health history from clients and maintain charts.
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
• Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

Experience & Skills Requirements

• Veterinary technician licensure preferred, not required.
• 1‑2 years of clinical experience.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA‑accredited veterinary technology program preferred, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, squat, reach, stand, and walk throughout the day.
