Job summary

Rogers County Pet Hospital is seeking a dedicated veterinary technician to join our full-service team in Claremore, Oklahoma. You will support diagnostics, anesthesia, radiography, lab work, client communication, and nursing care in a fast-paced hospital with state-of-the-art equipment.

We value a strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to restrain and care for animals safely. Weekend availability, good customer service, and a commitment to continuing education are essential for success

Qualifications

  • One year of veterinary experience preferred.
  • Weekend availability required.
  • Excellent customer service and precise communication.
  • Ability to restrain pets safely.
  • Experience with sample collection and lab processing.
  • Knowledge of preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow.
  • Proficiency in radiography; dental radiographs a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Animal restraint and triage of incoming patients.
  • Collection and analysis of lab samples.
  • Diagnostic imaging and radiographs.
  • Nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases; anesthesia monitoring.

Job description

Rogers County Pet Hospital is a full-service hospital with state-of-the-art ultrasound and endoscopy equipment and an in-house laboratory for diagnostics. Our on-site digital radiograph machine and developer means we can process your pet's x-rays while you wait. In addition to medical services, our newly renovated boarding facilities provide clean, climate-controlled care while you are away.

We place our emphasis on preventive health care for your pets, and client education for you. Providing the highest level of state-of-the art veterinary care in a comfortable, compassionate environment, we can help your pets live healthy, happy lives. We offer each pet owner the highest level of education so you can make the best medical decisions on their behalf.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications
  • A high work ethic and positive attitude team member
  • Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
  • A minimum of 1-year experience preferred, CVT/RVT/LVT a bonus
  • Weekend availability
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
  • Interpret medical records and record client history accurately
  • Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
  • Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
  • Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests
  • Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs, positioning for dental radiographs are a plus
  • Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
  • A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
  • Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency
