Job summary

Rogers County Pet Hospital in Oklahoma is seeking a compassionate veterinary assistant/technician to perform animal restraint, triage, sample collection, and assist with diagnostic imaging and anesthesia. You will support medical and hospitalized patients, communicate treatment plans to clients, and help maintain a clean, efficient hospital environment.

  • Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests. Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs; dental radiographs are a plus.
  • Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring.
  • A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset.
  • Ability to receive constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Animal restraint and triage of incoming patients.
  • Collection and analysis of lab samples and diagnostic imaging.
  • Nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying stability; anesthesia management.
  • Administration of medications and communication of treatment plans with clients.
  • Surgical preparation and assistance, and overall hospital workflow.

Our on-site digital radiograph machine and developer means we can process your pet's x-rays while you wait. In addition to medical services, our newly renovated boarding facilities provide clean, climate-controlled care while you are away.

Job Description

Job duties include, but are not limited to: Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management. Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.
