Job summary

Rogers County Pet Hospital is a full-service hospital offering advanced ultrasound, endoscopy, an in-house lab, and on-site digital radiography. We emphasize preventive care and client education, with a focus on compassionate, state-of-the-art veterinary services.

Job duties include animal restraint, triage, lab analysis, diagnostic imaging, nursing of medical/hospitalized cases, medication administration, and anesthesia management.

Qualifications

• Experience with sample collection and lab analysis.
• Ability to restrain animals safely and calmly.
• Experience with diagnostic imaging and radiographs.
• Excellent client communication and record-keeping.
• Weekend availability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Restrain, triage, and assist with medical and hospitalized cases.
• Collect and analyze lab samples; process and document results.
• Position and acquire radiographs; assist with dental radiography as needed.
• Administer medications and assist with anesthesia and surgical procedures.
• Communicate treatment plans and progress with clients.

Job description

Rogers County Pet Hospital is a full-service hospital with state-of-the-art ultrasound and endoscopy equipment and an in-house laboratory for diagnostics. Our on-site digital radiograph machine and developer means we can process your pet's x-rays while you wait. In addition to medical services, our newly renovated boarding facilities provide clean, climate-controlled care while you are away.

We place our emphasis on preventive health care for your pets, and client education for you. Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

• A high work ethic and positive attitude team member
• Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
• A minimum of 1-year experience preferred, CVT/RVT/LVT a bonus
• Weekend availability
• Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
• Interpret medical records and record client history accurately
• Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
• Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
• Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
• Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests
• Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs, positioning for dental radiographs are a plus
• Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
• A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
• Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency
