Premier Veterinary Group in Chicago, IL is hiring a full-time Certified Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine team.

An Internal Medicine Technician is responsible for supporting the Internist with sophisticated testing and procedures, including setting up and assisting with diagnostics, monitoring anesthetic patients, and managing laboratory samples. The role involves primary client contact, preparing estimates, updating owners, and assisting with medical records, invoicing, and patient scheduling.

Compensation: $23-32/hr

Common procedures include:

• Ultrasound, FNA/Biopsies
• ECGs/EKGs
• Abdominocentesis, thoracocentesis
• Endoscopy, Bronchoscopy, Rhinoscopy, Cytoscopy
• CT Imaging, contrast studies
• Bone marrow aspirates/biopsies
• CSF taps
• ACTH Stimulation test
• Glucose Curves
• Joint taps
• Arterial blood draws
• BAL/TTW
• Chemotherapy administration

Required skills:

• CVT or experienced nurse with 3+ years in emergency or specialty settings, including advanced anesthesia
• Excellent communication skills
• Proper animal restraint, catheter placement, venipuncture
• Knowledge of drug administration routes, fluid/medication calculations
• Aseptic surgical prep, vital signs monitoring, basic lab testing
• Ability to lift 35 lbs, stand long periods
• Fluent English; multilingual skills a plus
