Job Description

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying stability, administration of medications, communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.
• Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste, and contagious diseases.
• Opportunities for growth through virtual and hands-on training and continuing development.

Qualifications

We’re looking for:

• A high work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to arrive on time and be prepared
• At least 1-year experience preferred; CVT/RVT/LVT a bonus
• Weekend availability
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills
• Ability to interpret medical records and accurately record client history
• Knowledge of preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
• Ability to restrain pets safely and calmly
• Proficiency in sample collection (blood, urine, fecal, skin)
• Ability to set up and process laboratory tests
• Proficiency in radiograph positioning, including dental radiographs a plus
• Proficiency in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
• A self-starter eager to expand knowledge and skills
• Receptive to constructive feedback to improve hospital efficiency
