Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center Veterinary Technician

Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center is seeking a small animal veterinary technician who is self-motivated, a team player, communicates well with clients and staff, pays attention to detail, and demonstrates passion for the veterinary industry. Our small animal veterinary team is growing, and a third DVM will be added to the team with potential for extended hours in the future.

Education

• Two years veterinary technician experience
• CVT preferred but not required

Skills

• Excellent communication skills
• Accurate record keeping of patient care, surgery, patient history, treatments, and diagnostics
• Present treatment plans and apply proper charges for services
• Obtain and monitor vitals, anesthetic patients, and identify corrective actions for abnormal findings
• Obtain samples for laboratory analysis, perform radiograph techniques, and follow radiation safety protocols
• Understand and calculate medications and modes of administration
• Maintain cleaning and disinfecting protocols in all areas of the clinic
• Review discharge instructions with clients and provide education
• Work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
