Job summary

Alpine Veterinary Hospital in Cabin John, MD seeks a Licensed or Credentialed Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, or CVT) with 2+ years of experience to join our growing team. You’ll support surgical and outpatient care, mentor teammates, and help cultivate a collaborative hospital culture.

This full‑time role features eight‑hour weekday shifts with rotating Saturdays, pay between $24 and $30 per hour based on experience, a sign‑on bonus, VTNE support for new grads, and a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

  • RVT/LVT/CVT credential required.
  • 1–2 years of veterinary technician experience preferred.
  • Experience with surgery and anesthesia monitoring.
  • Strong patient-care and technical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support surgical and outpatient appointments.
  • Assist with surgical procedures and monitor anesthesia.
  • Provide nursing and inpatient care.
  • Recover surgical and hospitalized patients.
  • Place IV catheters and perform venipuncture.
  • Administer medications and injections.
  • Perform laboratory diagnostics and other technical procedures.
  • Perform dental cleanings and dental radiographs.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures.
  • Communicate with clients about patient care and treatment plans.
  • Support training and mentorship of other technicians and team members.
  • Promote consistent patient-care and technical standards.

Alpine Veterinary Hospital is growing, and we’re looking for a Licensed or Credentialed or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, or CVT) with 2+ years of experience who wants to take the next step in their career.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who enjoys surgery, anesthesia, patient care, and mentoring others and is interested in developing their leadership skills. As our hospital continues to grow, we’re looking for someone who can bring experience to the team, help train and support fellow technicians, and contribute to building a strong, collaborative hospital culture.

What You’ll Do

You’ll have a hands‑on role supporting both surgical and outpatient appointments, with opportunities to help strengthen the skills of the existing technician team.

  • Assist with surgical procedures and monitor anesthesia

What We’re Looking For
  • RVT, LVT, or CVT credential required
  • 1–2 years of veterinary technician experience preferred
