Job summary

Pet Care Clinic of the High Country is hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or experienced Veterinary Assistant for a full-time role. The position offers a four-day work week with four 10-hour shifts and no holiday or weekend shifts, with compensation negotiable based on experience.

  • Registered Veterinary Technician credentials or significant hands-on Veterinary Assistant experience are required.
  • Strong patient handling and restraint skills are essential.
  • Experience performing blood draws and placing IV catheters is preferred.
  • Comfort with assisting in surgeries and dental procedures is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, procedures, and surgeries.
  • Safely handle and restrain patients using appropriate techniques.
  • Perform blood draws and collect diagnostic samples.
  • Place IV catheters and support fluid therapy.
  • Prepare patients for surgical and dental procedures.
  • Monitor anesthesia and patient vital signs throughout procedures.
  • Provide post-operative monitoring and recovery care.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, procedures, and surgeries
  • Safely handle and restrain patients using appropriate techniques
  • Perform blood draws and collect diagnostic samples
  • Place IV catheters and support fluid therapy
  • Prepare patients for surgical and dental procedures
  • Monitor anesthesia and patient vital signs throughout procedures
  • Provide attentive post-operative monitoring and recovery care
  • Assist with laboratory diagnostics and other clinical procedures
  • Provide compassionate nursing care to patients throughout their visit
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients regarding patient care and veterinary recommendations
  • Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation
  • Collaborate with doctors and teammates to maintain an efficient hospital workflow
