Cold Springs Animal Hospital in Texas is seeking an experienced veterinary technician to join a dedicated team. This full-time role offers a four-day work week with no nights, on-call shifts, or holiday hours, along with a comprehensive benefits package and ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary technician experience is required.
• Credentialed technician is preferred (CVT/LVT/RVT).
• Strong communication with clients and team members.
• Proficient in medical record-keeping and basic computer tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, dental procedures, and treatments.
• Restrain patients safely using low-stress, compassionate techniques.
• Monitor anesthesia, vital signs, recovery, and hospitalized patients.
• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, vaccines, and treatments.
• Collect lab samples, run in-house diagnostics, and assist imaging.
• Assist with emergency triage, CPR and critical care as needed.
• Prepare surgical suites and equipment, maintain strict sterility.
• Educate clients on preventive care, meds, nutrition, and home care.

What Our Veterinary Technicians Do

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, dental procedures, and medical treatments
• Safely restrain and handle patients using compassionate, low-stress techniques
• Monitor anesthesia, patient vital signs, surgical recovery, and hospitalized patients
• Perform venipuncture, place IV catheters, and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments
• Collect laboratory samples, perform in-house diagnostics, and assist with diagnostic imaging
• Assist with emergency triage, stabilization, CPR, and critical patient care
• Prepare patients, surgical suites, and equipment while maintaining strict sterilization protocols
• Fill prescriptions under veterinarian supervision
• Educate clients on preventive care, medications, nutrition, and home-care instructions
• Provide compassionate discharge instructions and client education
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with inventory and daily hospital operations
• Keep treatment areas, exam rooms, and surgical suites clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards

What You'll Bring

• Previous veterinary technician experience required
• Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) preferred
• Passion for animal health and client education
• Calm, confident demeanor during emergencies
• Strong technical skills, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory procedures, and anesthesia monitoring
• Excellent communication and client-service skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
