Job summary

New England Animal Medical Center Primary Care is offering an externship for veterinary students at our AAHA-accredited, Fear Free Certified hospital. Students will gain hands-on clinical experience while learning day-to-day operations in a thriving five-doctor practice.

Applicants will document patient histories, perform exams, and develop diagnostic and treatment plans with veterinarians, with opportunities to observe dentistry, surgery, and integrative care.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled veterinary student in clinical portion of education.
• Enthusiastic, professional, and committed to client care.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient histories.
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations.
• Develop diagnostic and treatment plans with veterinarians.
• Interpret diagnostic findings and discuss case management.
• Observe and assist with dentistry procedures, including full-mouth dental radiography.
• Observe, assist with, or perform surgical procedures as appropriate to skill level.
• Gain experience in medical management of hospitalized and outpatient cases.
