Job summary

CSU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (CSUVDL) in Fort Collins, Colorado is hiring for a part-time Administrative Professional position (20 hours/week). The role supports grant-funded research and diverse project management activities within CSUVDL.

The successful candidate will have a DVM, at least 2 years in veterinary medicine and 2 years in project management, with experience in grant-funded research projects.

Qualifications

  • DVM degree required.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in veterinary medicine.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in project management.
  • Experience working on grant-funded research projects.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue and manage external funding opportunities for CSU VDL, including USDA NAHLN and NADPRP Farm Bill funding.
  • Manage pre-award and post-award phases, including proposal development and submission, organizing and communicating project activities, ensuring delivery of project outcomes and appropriately managing finances.
  • Independently troubleshoot, problem solve and manage issues related to priority, project contributors, including conflict resolution and other issues impacting success if necessary.
  • Manage operational projects for the VDL, including developing goals and deliverables, organizing personnel and inputs, and building consensus among stakeholders.
  • Develop interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders while managing projects.
  • Organize project plans and schedules and coordinate information distribution relative to the projects.
  • Provide strong data management, objective assessment, critical thinking and communications skills to all projects.
