Cape Veterinary Clinic in Portland, Maine, is seeking a Receptionist to be the Director of First Impressions and help coordinate care for our animal patients. You will manage a multi-line phone system, greet clients warmly, and support accurate medical records, appointments, and payments.

Ideal candidates bring excellent communication, strong organization, a team-first mindset, and experience in Veterinary Urgent Care or Emergency Care.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication are essential.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative, team-first mindset with the ability to work independently as needed.
• Previous Veterinary Urgent Care and/or Emergency Care experience required.
• Experience with veterinary software is preferred; a flexible schedule including some weekends and holidays is required.

Responsibilities

• Be the Director of First Impressions: manage a multi-line phone system, greet clients, and reflect compassionate care in every interaction.
• Ensure seamless care coordination: maintain medical records, manage appointments, and handle financial transactions.
• Advocate for pet health: educate clients on preventative care and hospital services to ensure optimal care.
• Embody compassion and empathy: be a calming presence for clients and treat each pet with care.
