Job summary

South Anderson Veterinary Clinic is seeking a friendly Customer Service Representative (Veterinary Receptionist) to be the first contact for clients and their pets. This full-time role emphasizes warm, professional interactions, front-office organization, and supporting efficient hospital workflow.

You will help clients feel informed and cared for during every visit, while collaborating with doctors and staff to maintain a welcoming environment and high-quality client service.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum two years of office, customer-service, or patient-relations experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment.
  • Comfort with Windows-based software and veterinary practice-management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome clients and patients with warmth, professionalism, and compassion.
  • Answer a multi-line phone system, prioritizing and directing calls appropriately.
  • Schedule appointments to optimize doctor and staff time.
  • Check clients and patients in and collect information and payments.
  • Maintain accurate client and patient data in the practice-management system.
  • Collaborate with doctors and staff to keep the hospital running smoothly.

What You'll Do
  • Welcome clients and patients with warmth, professionalism, and compassion
  • Answer a multi-line phone system while assessing, prioritizing, and directing calls appropriately
  • Schedule appointments to support efficient use of doctor and staff time
  • Check clients and patients in and collect accurate, pertinent information
  • Confirm upcoming appointments according to hospital protocols
  • Check clients and patients out and collect payments at the time of service
  • Schedule follow-up appointments as needed
  • Maintain accurate client and patient information within the practice-management system
  • Respond to client questions and help resolve concerns professionally
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
  • Support day-to-day front-office operations and administrative tasks
  • Collaborate with doctors, technicians, assistants, and fellow CSRs to keep the hospital running smoothly
