Tenth Street Animal Hospital is a full-service animal hospital located in scenic Greenville, North Carolina. Just east of the North Carolina coastline, our 5-doctor, AAHA-accredited, small animal hospital has been dedicated to pets and their owners since 1987. As a Receptionist, you will:
  1. Receive and make calls to clients for scheduling appointments.
  2. Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
  3. Maintain accurate documentation of client and pet records, including referrals and medical histories.
  4. Assist clients by providing information, instructions, invoices, dispensing prescriptions as per veterinarian’s instructions, and scheduling future appointments.
  5. Use hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and team members.
  6. Manage hospital finances by accurately handling transactions, following cash and credit procedures, and adhering to opening and closing protocols.
  7. Provide excellent customer service with professional communication skills.
  8. Educate clients on pet health, preventative care, and available hospital services to advocate for pets.
  9. Maintain a positive attitude in all interactions with clients, pets, and staff.
  10. Show empathy and compassion towards clients and pets.
Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Proficiency with standard office equipment and veterinary software (preferred).
  2. Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
  3. Flexible schedule including some weekends and holidays.
  4. Ability to work independently and follow directions.
  5. Strong organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  6. Ability to manage stressful situations effectively.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Pay range of $12.00-$18.00/hour based on experience.
