Job summary

National Veterinary Associates is seeking a friendly Veterinary Receptionist to greet clients, schedule appointments, handle payments, and maintain front-desk operations. You will support the care teams by ensuring a smooth client experience and accurate client records.

Responsibilities include answering phones, managing waiting area, processing inquiries, and aiding weekend/evening shifts. Prior reception experience in veterinary or similar settings is preferred; lifting up to 40 lbs may be

Job description

Key Responsibilities Veterinary Receptionist:

Provides excellent and expeditious client experience; greets clients, responds to questions; processes incoming and outgoing pets, and handles payments. Answers phone calls, which may involve answering questions, screening for service needs, and scheduling appointments. Handles incoming and outgoing mail and e-mail. Monitors client waiting area to ensure cleanliness. Documents and maintains client information, service data and other pertinent information within business operations software. Escalates complex matters to senior staff.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Receptionist or similar role. 1 year preferred.

Ability to lift and restrain animals (up to 40 lbs. or more)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Willingness to work weekends and evenings

  • Multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Compassion and patience when dealing with distressed pet owners
  • Ability to handle upset clients or emergency situations calmly and professionally

Compensation:

  • Base hourly rate of $16.00-$18.00
