Job summary

Highland Park Animal Hospital in Dallas is seeking an energetic receptionist to join our luxury veterinary practice and boarding facility. You will be the first and last contact, delivering exceptional client service and accurate communication while using our medical software.

The role requires a passion for people and their pets, strong multitasking, and a positive attitude. You’ll support doctors and staff, schedule procedures, handle payments, and help maintain a welcoming reception area.

Qualifications

  • 1 year veterinary experience required.
  • Experience with veterinary practice management software.
  • Able to assist staff and multitask.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and pets by name.
  • Answer phones promptly and professionally; screen and route calls.
  • Be proficient in using our veterinary practice-management software.
  • Receive and transmit faxes.
  • Take and deliver accurate messages promptly to appropriate staff.
  • Note in medical records the details discussed during client conversations including the date, time, key points of the discussion and any action required.
  • Coordinate with doctors and technical staff for complete medical care.
  • Discuss services provided and answer client questions thoroughly.
  • Schedule appointments and surgeries according to guidelines.
  • Handling payments and end of day finances.
  • Maintain cleanliness of client and reception areas.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an energetic professional to join us at Dallas’ most elite veterinary practice and boarding facility, Highland Park Animal Hospital. Because you are the first and last contact with the facility and are key to creating lasting impressions, you must have a passion for people and their pets. We expect extraordinary client service and communication, outstanding computer abilities, accurate financial skills, and a consistently positive attitude. After 57 years in this historical community, we now operate in a three-story luxury hospital and boarding facility with eight Doctors of Veterinary Medicine and provide support and care to countless families and their companions.
