As a Receptionist, you will:

  • Receive and place calls to clients for scheduling.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
  • Maintain proper documentation through client and pet records, such as referral documentation and medical history.
  • Assist clients by providing instructions, information, invoices, dispense prescriptions as per veterinarian’s instructions, and schedule future appointments.
  • Utilize hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and teammates.
  • Manage the hospital's financial transactions, ensuring accurate balances and following cash handling procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally.
  • Educate clients on preventative care, pet health needs, treatment options, and hospital services.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and show empathy toward clients and pets.
  • Use standard office equipment and possess knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
  • Be flexible with schedule, including some weekends and holidays.
  • Experience with veterinary software is preferred.
  • Work independently and accept guidance on tasks.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills and critical thinking.
  • Possess strong communication skills, good judgment, and stress management abilities.

Compensation and benefits include:

  • Pay range of $12.35-$20.90/hour based on experience.
