Job summary

The Sanctuary Veterinary Program Satellite Supervisor at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary Satellite Clinics oversees daily clinic operations, guides the Veterinary Treatment team, and supports humane care in line with our no-kill mission.

You lead with kindness, manage volunteers, ensure safety and quality care, and collaborate with veterinarians to deliver essential services. Relocation assistance may be considered.

Qualifications

• Experience in leading teams or managing people is preferred but not required.
• Experience working as a veterinary technician in a shelter, veterinary clinic, or animal hospital is required.
• Experience with emergency medicine is preferred.
• Certification is a plus.
• Bilingual or multi-lingual skills preferred but not required.
• Customer-centric, non-judgmental approach to engaging with adopters, partners, visitors, volunteers, and colleagues; familiarity with conversational adoption process.
• Ability to work with, leash, kennel, walk, and handle cats and dogs, including those with health and/or behavior conditions/ concerns.
• Strong interpersonal skills, a team player, professional and able to work with people from different backgrounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with good organizational skills.
• Resourceful, proactive, and willing to support various areas.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily clinic and veterinary care programs with volunteers.
• Oversee and coordinate activities to expand lifesaving capacity.
• Perform medical care including injections, blood draws, vaccinations, fluids, catheterization, and microchipping.
• Maintain sterile techniques and pharmacology knowledge.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and compliant work environment and maintain records.
• Support performance conversations and onboarding of new staff.
