Qualifications

Minimum of one year working or volunteering in an animal shelter, veterinary clinic, or hospital.
Excellent communications skills, including public speaking and advocacy for Best Friends.
Experience leading teams; ability to supervise staff and volunteers.
Bilingual or multilingual skills are preferred but not required.
Proficiency with standard office software; willingness to learn shelter software.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage teams, provide strategic direction, and promote lifesaving objectives.
Oversee staffing, training, and performance feedback; participate in recruitment.
Prepare and manage the department's budget, forecasting, and performance metrics.
Ensure programs meet procedures; maintain data retention and reporting.
Collaborate with other teams to achieve lifesaving goals and strong customer service.
Maintain inventory and medical supply accounts.
Build relationships with coalition partners and the public.
