Ayers Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced and compassionate Veterinary Practice Manager to lead day-to-day hospital operations and support our compassionate team while delivering an exceptional client experience.

The ideal candidate balances people management, operations, and client service in a fast-paced veterinary environment. Strong leadership, organization, and communication are essential, with a focus on teamwork and outstanding patient care.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Veterinary hospital or practice management experience preferred.
• Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and lead with fairness and accountability.
• A passion for veterinary medicine, team development, and outstanding client service.
• Experienced or Certified Veterinary Practice Manager with a minimum of 1-year management experience preferred or 3+ years veterinary experience preferred.
• Knowledgeable in veterinary medicine terminology and how to run a veterinary hospital.
• Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator.
• Highly organized and possess computer skills.
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.
• Open availability with flexibility to change hours based on hospital’s needs

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop hospital team members through training, feedback, and performance management.
• Partner with leadership on recruiting, hiring, onboarding, staffing, scheduling, and employee relations.
• Oversee daily hospital operations to ensure an efficient, welcoming, and positive environment.
• Address client and employee concerns professionally and promptly.
• Manage inventory, equipment, vendors, and purchasing to maintain appropriate supplies and control costs.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, OSHA, DEA/controlled substance regulations, and other required protocols.
• Ensure payroll and administrative processes are completed accurately and on time.
• Support client service, scheduling, patient records, and communication with pet owners.
• Build strong relationships with team members, doctors, clients, vendors, and the local community.
• Promote a positive hospital culture focused on teamwork, patient care, and exceptional client service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
