Job summary

Ayers Animal Hospital in Huntington, WV is seeking an experienced Veterinary Practice Manager to lead daily operations and support a dedicated veterinary team. You will balance people management, hospital efficiency, and superb client service while upholding high standards of care for small animals.

Ideal candidates have veterinary management experience, strong leadership, excellent communication, and a passion for team development in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Experienced or Certified Veterinary Practice Manager with a minimum of 1-year management experience preferred or 3+ years veterinary experience preferred.
• Knowledgeable in veterinary medicine terminology and how to run a veterinary hospital.
• Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator.
• Highly organized and possess computer skills.
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.
• Open availability with flexibility to change hours based on hospital’s needs

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop hospital team members through training, feedback, and performance management.
• Partner with leadership on recruiting, hiring, onboarding, staffing, scheduling, and employee relations.
• Oversee daily hospital operations to ensure an efficient, welcoming, and positive environment.
• Address client and employee concerns professionally and promptly.
• Manage inventory, equipment, vendors, and purchasing to maintain appropriate supplies and control costs.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, OSHA, DEA/controlled substance regulations, and other required protocols.
• Ensure payroll and administrative processes are completed accurately and on time.
• Support client service, scheduling, patient records, and communication with pet owners.
• Build strong relationships with team members, doctors, clients, vendors, and the local community.
• Promote a positive hospital culture focused on teamwork, patient care, and exceptional client service.
• Perform other duties as assigned
