Job summary

Suburban Animal Clinic in Columbus, OH is seeking a Practice Manager to lead essential business functions in a busy veterinary setting. You will partner with the Managing Doctor to ensure profitability, growth, and excellent client service while supporting a high-performing clinical team.

You will drive operations across HR, planning, IT management, and marketing, and work with Heartland and MDVM to optimize practice performance.

Qualifications

• Full-time, on-site; weekends when needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in applied science, veterinary technology, or business a plus; Practice Manager Certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manages practice financial performance and drives revenue growth.
• Manages practice expenses including pharmacy, supplies, labor, and facility.
• Ensures appropriate inventory management including an appropriate balance of regular stock and sales.
• Partners with MDVM to maintain pricing and to input during annual budget planning.
• Creates new or analyzes existing performance reports and generates insights to improve performance.
• Applies knowledge of veterinary practice management to direct successful daily operations and support doctors and technicians.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and safety standards; coordinates with HR and support centers.
• Oversees marketing strategy with Heartland Marketing, social media, and community outreach.
• Ensures appropriate staffing and collaborates with Heartland Recruiting to fill open requisitions.
• Maintains confidentiality and conducts regular team meetings and trainings.
