Job summary

Blue River PetCare is seeking a Veterinary Operations Analyst to support the Operations team by implementing strategic initiatives with a focus on data and analytics. The role requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and proficiency in data analysis tools, along with significant veterinary industry experience.

The selected candidate will conduct audits, generate pricing analyses, and leverage AI tools. Health, dental, vision insurance, and a hybrid or remote work option are part of the compensation package.

Job description

This team member must have prior veterinary industry experience.

The Veterinary Operations Analyst plays a pivotal role in implementing strategic initiatives across the organization, primarily supporting the Blue River PetCare Operations team in veterinary data and analytics. Reporting to the Director of Field Operations, this position requires a driven individual with excellent communication, time management and organization skills. The role requires adaptability to the evolving veterinary landscape and the ability to acquire new skills as needed. The ideal candidate is comfortable leveraging AI-assisted tools to streamline analytical workflows and improve the efficiency and accuracy of reporting processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular audits of veterinary pricing data to ensure accuracy and compliance with established standards, utilizing AI-assisted tools to accelerate data review and flag anomalies
  • Identify and investigate discrepancies or irregularities in pricing information
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including FP&A, to address and rectify pricing errors
  • Generate pricing analyses based on AAHA and Benchmark standard pricing guides
  • Analyze completed veterinary pricing analyses to assess profitability and market competitiveness
  • Use quantitative and qualitative methods, including AI-powered analytics, to identify pricing opportunities, risks, and improvement areas
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to gather/validate veterinary service cost and market trend data
  • Review and audit veterinary invoices to identify missed charges, discrepancies, or errors; leverage automated workflows where applicable to improve throughput and reduce manual effort
  • Communicate audit findings to stakeholders and recommend process improvement
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Requirements
  • 1-2 years strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in data analysis tools. Familiarity with AI-assisted tools or demonstrated curiosity and willingness to adopt them in analytical and reporting workflows
  • Knowledge of veterinary industry pricing trends and best practices
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex pricing analyses to diverse stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data analysis
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environment
Basic Skills and Qualifications
  • 5 years’ experience in veterinary medicine
Technical Skills
  • Working knowledge of AAHA practice product category standards
  • Proficiency in veterinary practice management software systems
  • Minimum of 1-2 years proficiency in Excel and similar data analysis tools; experience with AI-assisted platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) a plus
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in animal health sciences
  • Working knowledge of AllyDVM, Vetcove, and Salesforce. Experience applying AI tools to streamline operational or financial analysis workflows
Physical Requirements
  • Remain in a seated position at least 75% of the time
  • Ability to communicate with others via in-person verbal communication, as well as frequent emails and phone/video calls
  • Ability to utilize a computer, keyboard and mouse when working
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 40lbs

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $66,000-$71,000
