Job summary

The Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in the Small Animal Specialty Services Oncology unit at the University of Georgia provides high‑quality nursing care across medical and radiation oncology. You will support chemotherapy, anesthesia, imaging and treatment procedures while ensuring patient safety and client communication.

Under veterinarians, you will operate LINAC systems, assist with anesthesia induction and monitoring, and help manage hospitalized patients.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and valid state licensure.
  • Experience in a multi-service animal care hospital.
  • Ability to handle canine and feline patients in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care for oncology patients receiving radiation therapy and chemotherapy.
  • Position and immobilize patients for radiation treatments and operate related equipment.
  • Monitor anesthesia and administer medications safely per protocols.
  • Educate clients on treatment plans and discharge instructions.
