Job summary

The University of Georgia is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician I for the Small Animal Specialty Services Oncology unit in the Athens area. The role provides nursing care with responsibilities across Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, diagnostics, anesthesia, and patient management.

Qualifications

  • Holds a Georgia Veterinary Technician license or can obtain licensure within 6 months.
  • Able to handle animals for treatments.
  • Experience in a multi-service animal care hospital/practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced nursing care for oncology patients undergoing treatment.
  • Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
  • Operate LINAC and imaging systems after training and assist with CT simulation.
  • Support chemotherapy appointments and client education when staffing allows.
