Job summary

Metropolitan Veterinary Associates (MVA) seeks a Veterinary ICU Technician to join our fast-paced, compassionate team. You will provide life-saving care in the ICU, monitor patients, and work with board-certified specialists to optimize treatment plans.

We value teamwork, continuous learning, and exceptional client service as we deliver high-quality anesthesia monitoring, diagnostics, and emergency support for small animals.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a high-volume emergency or ICU setting (preferred).
• Experience with advanced monitoring, ventilator support, and critical patient stabilization.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical patient care in ICU, administer therapies, monitor vitals, and aid in stabilizing patients.
• Collaborate with board-certified clinicians and emergency veterinarians to refine treatment plans.
• Utilize advanced monitoring equipment to track status and respond quickly.
• Communicate with pet parents with empathy and provide updates.
• Contribute to learning and training across the team.

What You’ll Do

As a Veterinary ICU Technician at MVA, you’ll be part of an experienced and compassionate team dedicated to delivering life‑saving care. In this role, you will:

• Provide critical patient care—administer treatments and therapies, monitor vitals, and perform advanced diagnostics to stabilize and support patients in the ICU.
• Collaborate with board‑certified Criticalists and emergency veterinarians—discuss cases, refine treatment plans, and ensure patients receive the best possible care.
• Utilize advanced monitoring equipment to track patient status, detect subtle changes, and respond quickly to emergent needs.
• Communicate with pet parents—explain updates with empathy, answer questions, and offer reassurance during challenging times.
• Contribute to a culture of learning and teamwork, sharing ideas for process improvements and helping train other team members.

Anticipated Schedule

This is a full‑time position with the following schedules available:

• Please note that some holidays are required.

Compensation

• Starting at $28/hour, plus a 25% shift differential

Eligible for up to a $5,000 sign‑on bonus!
