Job summary

Small Door, a membership-based veterinary practice, seeks a DVM to lead a 1–5 doctor team in Washington DC. You will mentor doctors, partner with regional leadership to recruit and retain talent, and collaborate with operations to ensure clinical coverage and hospitality excellence.

You will act as the clinical contact for complex cases, uphold regulatory standards, and drive practice performance while maintaining compassionate care for pets and families.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) with an active state license and DEA license, plus 5+ years' experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat pets, counsel clients in pet care.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a 1–5 doctor team and ensure engagement.
• Recruit, onboard, and retain veterinary talent with Regional Medical Director and Talent team.
• Ensure clinical coverage and schedule alignment with operations.
• Uphold Small Door’s hospitality standards and culture with the team.
• Serve as the clinical point of contact for escalated medical questions.
• Maintain compliance with medical protocols and regulatory requirements.
