Small Door is seeking an experienced Veterinary Medical Director to lead a 1–5 doctor team, mentor clinicians, and collaborate with regional leaders to recruit and retain top talent.

You will oversee scheduling, uphold clinical quality and patient care standards, ensure DEA and OSHA compliance, and drive continuous improvement across operations while maintaining Small Door's hospitality and member experience.

Qualifications

• DVM with active state license and DEA registration.
• 5+ years of veterinary clinical experience.
• Proven leadership and mentoring ability.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat pets and counsel clients.
• Directly manage and develop a team of 1–5 doctors.
• Partner with Regional Medical Director to recruit and retain talent.
• Collaborate on doctor scheduling to ensure clinical coverage.
• Uphold culture, values, and hospitality standards for members.
• Serve as clinical point of contact for escalated medical questions.
• Ensure service accessibility aligns with member needs.
• Mentor doctors on clinical skills, performance, and client satisfaction.
• Collaborate with Practice Manager to support cross-functional teams.
• Engage Nursing Leadership to promote learning and continuous improvement.
• Monitor financial performance and work to meet budget targets.
