Job summary

Zoetis, Inc. is seeking a Lab Tech 1 to perform routine tests and support diagnostic services for animal health. You will prepare specimens, operate analyzers, review results, and ensure compliance with SOPs.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to work with various department equipment, and collaboration with veterinarians and lab staff. Training on-site with full benefits and day-one healthcare is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Experience in basic laboratory testing or operations.
• Proficient knowledge in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, endocrinology, parasitology, and cytology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare biological specimens for testing across departments (hematology, urinalysis, serology, chemistry, endocrinology, parasitology, cytology, coagulation).
• Operate high-throughput analyzers, microscopes, and other diagnostic equipment on samples (blood, serum, urine, feces).
• Set up, run, review, and release test results per SOPs.
• Perform routine and non-routine analyzer maintenance.
• Troubleshoot one major department analyzer.
• Review daily QC reports and Levey‑Jennings charts.
• Handle, store, and dispose of biological specimens per SOPs.
• Maintain clean, organized lab workspace.
• Fill out logs for maintenance, environmental, and cleaning tasks.
• Maintain records (medical, courier logs, manifests).
• Prepare specimens for shipment to offsite testing facilities per DOT standards.
• Receive, store, and log supplies.
• Operate and maintain secondary equipment (centrifuges, pipettes, heating blocks, slide stainers).
• Follow Zoetis Reference Laboratories SOPs and training.
