Job summary

UC Davis is seeking a Laboratory Assistant (LAB AST 3) to receive clinical specimens, process samples, and support glass washing and media preparation. This on-site role involves biohazard handling, inventory tasks, and coordinating shipments while providing customer service over the phone.

The position is 100% on-site in Davis with a schedule of Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm and a bi-weekly pay frequency. Salary ranges align with UC Davis laboratories and are posted in the department details.

Qualifications

• No minimum education required
• Experience handling high volume work with attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal, oral and written communication with diverse clients and colleagues
• Knowledge of diagnostic procedures used in veterinary labs and veterinary/medical terminology
• Ability to learn sample handling for microbiologic, immunologic, histologic and clinical chemistry tests
• Experience with data entry into computer systems
