Veterinary Specialty Center in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Veterinary Technician to support surgical and critical care patients in a busy specialty hospital.

You’ll work closely with the surgical team, monitor patients, perform IV placements, administer meds, and assist in emergencies; CVT certification and ICU/ER experience preferred.

Qualifications

• CVT with ICU/ER or specialty hospital experience preferred.
• Strong technical skills and confidence with critical patient monitoring.
• Excellent multitasking and teamwork with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Monitor post-operative and critical patients in ICU.
• Place IV catheters, draw blood, catheter care.
• Assist with anesthetic recovery monitoring and interventions.
• Administer medications and update treatment sheets.
• Monitor vitals and pain scores; adjust care per DVM.
• Operate oxygen therapy, fluids, and monitoring equipment.
• Run in-house diagnostics.
• Maintain ICU cleanliness and stocking.
• Communicate clearly with DVMs, surgical staff, and clients.
• Support admissions and discharges; assist in emergencies.
