Job summary

VCA Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a compassionate Certified Veterinary Technician to join our 24/7 ER/ICU team. This hands-on role covers patient care, anesthesia, surgery assistance and critical care in a fast-paced environment.

We offer a compensation range of $23.00–$32.00 per hour, full-time scheduling with weekend shifts, and a comprehensive benefits package as part of our AAHA-accredited hospital.

Qualifications

• Credentialed veterinary technician status required.
• Experience in emergency/critical care preferred.
• Ability to monitor vitals and assist in procedures in high-acuity cases.

Responsibilities

• Triage and assess emergency patients quickly to prioritize care.
• Monitor critical patients and provide scheduled treatments overnight.
• Place IV catheters and manage fluids and CRIs as needed.
• Assist with stabilization, CPR, oxygen therapy and wound management.
• Administer medications per veterinarian orders with precise documentation.
• Perform diagnostics and imaging to support rapid decisions.
• Maintain medical records and ensure smooth handoff to day team.
• Communicate clearly with overnight veterinarian and team.
