Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking a Veterinary Technician for our Emergency/ICU team at the Palm Beach Gardens location. This full-time role supports veterinarians, ensures high-quality critical care, and helps manage patient flow in a 24/7 emergency setting.

Experience in specialty or emergency services is highly preferred, with additional strength in surgery and anesthesia. Licensing is preferred but not required; AVMA-accredited program or equivalent experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician preferred (CVT/LVT/RVT) but not required.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience in a specialty service or emergency is highly preferred.
• Surgery and anesthesia experience is highly preferred.
• Degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program or equivalent experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality care and educate clients.
• Assist Emergency and ICU teams to maximize productivity and patient flow.
• Perform patient assessments, triage, IV catheter placement, blood collection, and treatment prep.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes in status.
• Administer medications, fluids, blood products, and treatments as directed.
• Operate and monitor critical care equipment (infusion pumps, O2 devices, ECG).
• Assist during emergency procedures, CPR, and stabilization.
• Communicate treatment plans and updates to clients; discuss Thrive Membership options.
• Maintain accurate medical records in hospital management systems.
• Obtain patient histories and relayed information from clients.
• Use safe restraint techniques and uphold safety protocols.
• Maintain clean, organized ICU areas; mentor teammates and foster positive culture.
