VCA Ark Animal Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a Hospital Manager to lead our hospital’s daily operations and drive growth. You will mentor teams, manage finances, and partner with the Medical Director to implement policies that enhance patient care and client service.

The role focuses on building a collaborative, compassionate workplace, developing staff, and ensuring compliance with regulations while pursuing business development and profitability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience managing teams and overseeing business operations, including budgeting, KPIs, and staffing.
• Proven ability to hire, coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
• Familiarity with marketing, client engagement, and driving business growth.
• Excellent communication skills — clear, empathetic, and confident at all levels.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
• Passion for people, pets, veterinary medicine, and building a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the veterinary, technical, and client service teams in achieving hospital goals.
• Foster a strong hospital culture focused on quality patient care and client satisfaction.
• Partner with the Medical Director to develop and implement operational goals and hospital policies.
• Manage hiring, performance reviews, coaching, and team development with support from Regional Leadership.
• Monitor hospital finances, budgeting, and KPIs to support long-term success.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable local regulations.
• Help maintain a positive, engaging, and inclusive work environment for every team member.
• Support hospital growth through effective operations, client engagement, and business development.
