Job summary

Pleasanton Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Hospital Manager to lead our team, drive profitability, and uphold a culture of compassion and excellence in client care. You will work on-site with the Managing Veterinarian to shape operations and growth.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in a managerial role, a bachelor’s degree in business or related field, and proven oversight of hospital operations, staffing, scheduling, and budgets.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in a managerial role, including customer service experience.
• Experience in a hospital, retail, or service-based industry setting in positions of increased responsibility is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete ownership of P&L, accountable for the hospital's performance
• Collaborate with regional leadership to identify trends and forecast the hospital's needs
• Manage accounts receivable
• Oversee hospital inventory and control facility and administrative costs
• Manage payroll for hospital staff
• Develop the hospital schedule and manage labor costs
• Champion change and identify, document, share, and promote best practices
• Lead the hospital team to enhance processes and workflows, covering client service, operations, and administrative tasks
• Implement new technologies and initiatives to improve operational efficiency
• Establish and drive the culture of the hospital
• Track and maintain current licensures for all DVMs
• Provide feedback and handle challenging conversations
• Demonstrate and reinforce the highest level of client service
