Job summary

Colorado State University’s Veterinary Health System is seeking a dedicated custodial worker to perform daily cleaning and disinfection of examination rooms, treatment spaces, and public areas across CSU teaching hospitals and the Animal Cancer Center. The role includes deep cleaning, floor scrubbing, waxing, laundry operations, and stocking supplies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Cleaning experience in a commercial environment.
• Experience in cleaning rooms that had exposure to infectious diseases.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial cleaning and disinfection of clinical, animal care, and public areas following strict sanitary protocols.
• Clean and sanitize animal holding areas, equipment, and related spaces to maintain hygienic conditions and prevent cross-contamination.
• Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, and seasonal care (e.g., winter cleanup).
• Complete routine and deep cleaning tasks, including stripping/waxing floors and shampooing carpets.
• Manage laundry operations: collect, wash, dry, fold and redistribute linens.
• Stock and replenish custodial, animal care, and medical supplies.
• Dispose of waste and recyclables per procedures.
