Job summary

Animal Hospital of North Charleston is seeking a skilled veterinary receptionist to be the primary contact for clients and their pets. You will balance administrative accuracy with warmth across front desk interactions in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience as a veterinary receptionist.
Experience with veterinary practice management software preferred.
Knowledge of veterinary terminology and vaccines.
Proficiency in scheduling, billing, and records management.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Comfort with handling animals of various sizes.

Responsibilities

Greet and check in clients and patients, verify/update medical records, and confirm appointment details using practice management software.
Answer a multi-line phone system; handle scheduling, refills, vaccination records, and inquiries.
Process payments, post charges, explain invoices, and schedule follow-ups.
Communicate medical information with empathy, including euthanasia scheduling and end-of-life discussions.
Maintain electronic medical records and ensure timely data entry in PIMS.
Coordinate with veterinarians and staff to relay messages and manage patient flow.
Keep reception area clean and welcoming.
