Job summary

Animal Hospital of North Charleston is seeking a skilled veterinary receptionist to be the primary contact for clients and their pets. The role blends administrative precision with warmth across diverse interactions, including emotionally sensitive moments.

Key duties include greeting clients, managing a multi-line phone system, updating records, processing payments, and coordinating with veterinarians and staff to ensure smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a veterinary receptionist.
• Experience with veterinary practice management software preferred.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and vaccination protocols.
• Proficiency in appointment scheduling, phone management, records, and payments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle high-volume client relations.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients and patients, verify and update medical records, and confirm appointment details using practice management software.
• Answer and manage a multi-line telephone system, respond to inquiries about scheduling, refills, and vaccination records.
• Process payments, post charges, explain invoices, and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Communicate medical information accurately and compassionately, including sensitive end-of-life discussions.
• Maintain EMR and data entry in PIMS, coordinate with staff to relay client communications and prioritize urgent cases.
• Maintain reception area cleanliness and organize the waiting room for a positive client experience.
