Setauket Animal Hospital in East Setauket, NY, is a 5-doctor general practice seeking a compassionate Veterinary Receptionist (Care Coordinator) to greet clients, schedule appointments, process payments, and support doctors and staff in a fast-paced, pet-focused environment.

Our hospital operates under PetVet Care Centers with local autonomy and national support, offering collaboration and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Answering phones and scheduling appointments.
• Minor animal care background accepted.
• Knowledge of clerical procedures and ability to organize files and records.
• Excellent customer service skills, providing courteous and prompt assistance.
• Accurate cash handling and cashiering abilities.
• Strong multitasking skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work at a keyboard or workstation for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, climbing, and lifting animals up to 50 pounds.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients warmly, efficiently check-in and check-out pets, and manage appointment scheduling to optimize clinic flow.
• Handle medical collections accurately, including processing payments.
• Manage multi-line phones and schedule appointments appropriately.
• Maintain accurate medical records using a system software(Avimark experience is a plus).
• Communicate effectively with doctors and technical staff regarding patient flow and scheduling.
• Provide clear, professional client communication both in person and over the phone.
• Maintain a clean, organized reception area and assist with light cleaning tasks.
