National Veterinary Associates in Bothell, Washington, is offering an externship for third and fourth-year veterinary students. The externship will allow students to gain hands-on experience in patient care, including gathering histories, performing exams, and assisting in surgeries.
Applicants must submit a letter of intent, CV, and 2–3 letters of recommendation. Students should expect to work a flexible schedule with overnight emergency procedures required.
Students will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients.
Externs spend five days a week shadowing, assisting in rooms, performing treatments, and helping in surgery.
Applicants must be third or fourth‑year students of accredited domestic or international veterinary schools, pursuing a DVM, VMD, or foreign equivalent. First and second years are considered on a case‑by‑case basis.
We require a letter of intent and CV, as well as 2–3 letters of recommendation from advisors who can attest to your interest and experience in exotic animal medicine.
