Job summary

Sunset Veterinary Clinic in Edmond, OK offers an externship experience at an NVA hospital to understand day-to-day operations and gain hands-on clinical experience.

Students work with supervising veterinarians to gain experience in histories, exams, treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, surgeries, and medical management; plus communication with team and clients. Programs range two to eight weeks; veterinary students in clinical portion eligible; travel/living stipend provided.

Qualifications

• Vet students enrolled in a program may participate.
• Experience in gathering patient histories and physical exams expected.
• Exposure to dentistry and surgeries during externship.

Responsibilities

• Gaining experience in gathering patient histories and physical exams.
• Assisting or performing surgical procedures under supervision.
• Creating treatment plans and managing patient care.
• Observing and communicating with the medical team and clients.
