Job summary

Stillwater Veterinary Clinic, an NVA hospital, offers a Veterinary Externship designed to give veterinary students hands-on clinical experience in a supportive environment. You will work with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain proficiency in history taking, physical exams, treatment planning, diagnostics, and dental and surgical procedures.

Externs will also develop communication skills with the medical team, staff, and clients, while learning hospital operations.

Qualifications

• Externship experience at an NVA hospital (practical exposure)
• Clinical portion of veterinary education underway

Responsibilities

• Gaining patient histories and performing physical exams
• Creating treatment plans and ordering/ interpreting diagnostics
• Dentistry services and observing or performing surgical procedures
• Medical management of patients and communication with the team and clients
