Village East Animal Hospital offers a veterinary externship for students to observe and participate in the day-to-day clinical operations of an NVA hospital.

Under supervision by Associate Veterinarians, externs gain hands-on experience in histories, exams, treatment planning, diagnostics, dentistry, and medical management of patients, while observing or participating in surgeries and learning client communication.

• Externship experience at an NVA hospital provides grounding in daily practice operations.
• Supervised by Associate Veterinarians; includes histories, exams, treatment plans, diagnostics.
• Opportunity to perform or observe surgeries and manage medical cases.

Responsibilities

• Gather patient histories and perform physical exams.
• Assist in diagnostics, dentistry, surgery, and medical management.
• Develop communication skills with medical team, staff, and clients.
