Job summary

A leading global pet care organization in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking 3rd and 4th year veterinary students for an externship. The externship offers hands-on experience, including patient history gathering and surgical assistance, under the guidance of a supervising veterinarian. Participants will also have the opportunity to improve their communication skills in a collaborative environment. A travel/living expense stipend is available to eligible students. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in a supportive setting.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be enrolled in the clinical portion of their veterinary education.
• Must have a passion for animals and veterinary medicine.
• Excellent communication skills with staff and clients are necessary.

About the Hospital

At Pinnacle Peak Animal Hospital, we are an AAHA accredited and established small animal hospital located in North Scottsdale, AZ. We pride ourselves in offering gold standard medicine to our patients while providing a great experience for our clients.

Externship Experience

Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creation of treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients. In addition to practicing their clinical skills, student externs will have the opportunity to practice their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Externship Duration & Eligibility

Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. Our externships are offered to 3rd & 4th year veterinary students.

Travel/Living Expense Stipend
