Family Pet Clinic - North Richland Hills offers up to a $2,500 travel stipend for Clinical Year Externships!

An externship experience at an NVA hospital provides students with a unique opportunity to understand daily practice operations and gain valuable hands-on clinical experience. While each NVA hospital has its own characteristics, all share a supportive environment committed to excellent medicine and providing exceptional service to animals and their owners.

Students will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, observing or assisting in surgical procedures, and managing patient medical care. Additionally, externs will have opportunities to develop communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Family Pet Clinic of North Richland offers high-quality care for a variety of animals, including exotics, household pets, goats, and pigs.

Externship durations typically range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate in NVA externships.
