National Veterinary Associates offers externship opportunities for veterinary students at Angel Parkway Pet Hospital in Texas, providing hands-on clinical experience and mentorship. Students will learn essential skills in a supportive environment while receiving a travel stipend to offset living expenses.
Angel Parkway Pet Hospital offers up to a $1500 travel stipend for Clinical Year Externships.
An externship at an NVA hospital provides students with a unique opportunity to understand daily practice operations and gain valuable hands-on clinical experience. While each NVA hospital has its own characteristics, all share a supportive environment committed to excellent medicine and exceptional service to animals and their owners.
Students will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, observing or assisting with surgical procedures, and medical management of patients. Additionally, externs will have opportunities to develop their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Externship durations typically range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate in NVA externships.
Veterinary students in the clinical phase of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. Click HERE to view stipend amounts and HERE for stipend program details.
