Responsibilities

• Gather patient histories and perform physical examinations under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian.
• Assist in developing and implementing treatment plans and conducting diagnostics.
• Participate in dentistry services and observe, assist, or perform surgical procedures as appropriate.
• Provide medical management of patients and support the veterinary team with communication to staff and clients.

Experience & Compensation

The externship lasts between two and eight weeks, depending on scheduling. It is open to third‑ and fourth‑year veterinary students. Students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
