Northpointe Animal Hospital offers a structured externship for 3rd and 4th year veterinary students, providing hands-on experience in patient care, surgery, and diagnostics. Students will be immersed in a supportive environment with state-of-the-art facilities, allowing for practical learning and professional development in veterinary medicine.
Northpointe Animal Hospital in Lynnwood, WA, is a well-established site providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care. We are strong in surgery, dentistry, and urgent care. Our staff is Fear Free trained, and we are pursuing AAHA accreditation in the near future. We currently run 4 surgery days per week and are focused on expanding our dentistry services.
We recently underwent a renovation and offer state-of-the-art equipment such as a dental x-ray machine, laser therapy, ultrasound, and dental delivery machine. Our facilities include a new surgery suite, x-ray room, dental suite, doctor’s office, five exam rooms, and a spacious treatment area.
Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management. They will also have opportunities to practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Externship durations range from two to eight weeks, depending on schedules. These externships are designed for 3rd and 4th year veterinary students.
